Beauty Bucket List: must-try beauty products of 2018 so far

Over the past couple of months I’ve tried many new beauty products that I’ve not had the chance to share with you so I wanted to round up all of my favourite new luxury finds for the first half of 2018 in one blog post.  In today’s post, you will find a Beauty Bucket List: the must-try beauty products of 2018 so far.  There’s a little bit of everything in this beauty bucket list from skincare to fragrance, hair care and, of course, makeup too.

Fragrance

Armani Si Passione Eau de Parfum was very recently launched.  I am a true lover of the original Si fragrance so I had high hopes for this one too and I wasn’t disappointed.  With a bold, daring red bottle, the fragrance is also a little more firey than the original.  It is possibly less sweet and more fruit but equally as gorgeous.  I imagine this fragrance is going to be a best-seller over the next couple months and for good reason.

Skincare

When I discovered the Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Brightening Hydragel I have to admit I was rather excited because I’m always looking for a great moisturiser that combats dehydration which is my skin’s key concern.  This product absorbs quickly into the skin and has a deeply nourishing effect and adds a healthy radiance to my complexion.  If you suffer from dark spots and dehydration, this is a stellar product for you.

If you’ve been following skin care trends recently, you’ll be familiar with the jade roller trend that is taking the skincare world by storm.  In essence, jade rollers have become a popular tool to reduce puffiness in the skin by soothing it with its cold temperature and by massaging the skin which gently stimulates circulation and increases colour and glow in the skin.  The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Sculpting Gel product has taken this trend one step further by including a phenomenal ceramide gel into packaging complete with a roller applicator that can be used in a similar way to a jade roller so massage, cool and stimulate circulation in the skin.  I have to say that this has been one of the products I’ve been most excited about this year so far.  It’s really worth trying out for yourself!

Makeup

The YSL Beauty Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Luminizing Pen concealer has made waves on YouTube for being a phenomenal luxury concealer.  It has quickly become one of my favourite and most reached for concealers in my makeup drawer.  What I love most about it is that it is extremely lightweight but it packs a real punch in terms of coverage whereas most other full-coverage concealers are quite heavy on the skin.  I know this concealer is pricey, but gosh it’s worth it!

If you follow my YouTube tutorials, you will know that I prefer to bake my concealer than leave it as is to avoid caking and creasing later in the day.  I’ve been testing out the Elizabeth Arden Loose Powder and it’s proven to be a very reliable aid when it comes to baking.  It has such a lovely, smooth finish and sets my makeup for the entire day (and night too).

When it comes to highlighters I usually use MAC’s Soft and Gentle, but I discovered the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade while I was getting ready at my sister a few months back and it was love at first sight.  It’s really difficult to find a great highlighter when you’re as pale as my sister and I are, however, this one does a brilliant job and it is the most beautiful white/silver highlight shade that you look for when you’re as pale as us (anything with a hint of bronze looks very odd).  It’s a real gem so I’ll be stocking up on it for my own sake.

I’ve spoken about my love for the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Nude on my Instagram Stories.  It is possibly the most perfect lipstick of all time.  I pretty much wear it every single day.  I love it to bits!

If I had to recommend one foundation, it would be the Clarins Everlasting Foundation+.  It has a beautiful velvety finish and it is full coverage but completely lightweight.  It also happens to be one of the very few foundations that look better and better as the day goes on.  By the end of the day, you will look just as good as the beginning, no matter how long and stressful your day was.  I love that it is reliable and won’t disappear before you are ready to remove it.  It makes for the perfect foundation for any occasion.  You can read a more in-depth review of this foundation in this blog post.

Hair

The ghd Gold Styler is another product that you would have seen a lot of hype around on my Instagram stories of late.  This brand has proven that it deserves its place at the forefront of technology in the hair care world.  I know keep this bad boy in my gym bag to ensure that my hair is perfectly styled every day and I’ve recently mastered the art of ghd curls (watch my tutorial here) which have cut down the time that it usually takes me to create my signature waves in half which I’m SO happy about.  I’m simply obsessed with my styler.  It’s been such a fantastic discovery.

I hope you find a few new items that you’re as excited about as I am in this post.  Let me know what your favourite products of 2018 so far have been in the comment section below.  Also, let me know if you’d like to see an updated skincare routine.  It’s been a while since I’ve let you know what all I’m using and I’ve changed things up a little so it might be worth sharing.  Thanks so much for reading! x
